KUALA LUMPUR: He may be a rock legend, but for Datuk Awie of Wings fame, when he can, spending time at home is what he prefers most.
“Instead of going out, I would rather be at home, cooking for my family and sometimes doing a little gardening.
“I suppose, age has mellowed me down quite a bit,” said the 49-year-old when met recently at the launch of the comedy-horror Hantu Kak Limah at Wow KL here recently.
Awie, whose real name is Ahmad Azhar Othman, said that age and experiences have also taught him to be less quick-tempered.
He is also adopting a more positive approach when it comes to maintaining relationship with others.
“At one time, I used to avoid bumping into Erra Fazira (after their romantic relationship ended), but who would’ve guessed that we are friends again,” said Awie who is married to Sharifah Ladyana Syed Samsuddin, 31, in 2016.
In Hantu Kak Limah, Awie plays Husin. Directed by Mamat Khalid, it is scheduled to open in cinemas on Aug 9.
The film also stars Delimawati, Sabri Yunus, Ropie, Zul Ariffin, Mus May, Uqasha Senrose, Jue Aziz and Erra Fazira.
