KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actress Maya Karin is one celebrity who prefers to keep her love life private but recently, she opened up about a previous relationship with a businessman from Spain.
But the 38-year-old artiste said the two years of long distance relationship had ended in 2016, after both parties had refused to sacrifice their professional careers to be with each other.
“Due to his status as a high profile businessman, I had to keep our relationship on the down low, which was why I never spoke about it to anyone.
“We were very much in love, but we only met four times in a year.
“It was hard for me to maintain a long distance relationship. I admit I was so in love with him but I had to end it.
“He wasn’t about to give up on his career and it was the same for me, so there was no point in moving forward with the relationship,” she said in a news report today.
The award-winning actress who has been single since her divorce in 2010 revealed that there had been several men who had approached her but she didn’t feel the chemistry.
There were a few married men too, she added.
“Right now, I’m in no rush to find a life partner. If I am destined to not find one, I will consider adopting kids so that I have someone to keep me company,” she said.
