KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Berhad’s TV channels ntv7 dan 8TV took home nine trophies at the 4th Asia Rainbow TV Awards in China.
8TV’s drama Beautiful World - Husband took home three trophies for Best Comedy, Best Comedy Actor (Jack Yap) and Best Comedy Actress (Wayne Cai), while its scriptwriter Moo Siew Keh was honoured with Best Scriptwriter award.
Besides that, Beautiful World - Crow’s leading actress Louisa Chong won Best Actress, while Emily Chan walked away with Best Supporting Actress for her convincing portrayal 8TV’s drama Growth Behind The Sun.
Another two trophies came from 8TV personalities Gary Yap dan Natalie Ng who each took home Best Male Host (Entertainment) and Best Female Host (Entertainment) for Ho Chak and I Can See Your Voice Season 1 [Mandarin] respectively.
ntv7’s reality programme Mandarin Battle Stars Season 7 bagged Best Game And Quiz Show award.
The awards show was held last Saturday at Yalong Bay Conference Center in Sanya, China.
Media Prima TV Networks’ chief executive officer Johan Ishak views the achievements by the two channels as a great beginning for 2019.
“I hope this would serve as an encouragement to production teams and artistes to work harder this year,” he said.
