KUALA LUMPUR: TV drama producer A. Aida was taken aback when told that award-winning teen actress Puteri Balqis Azizi had pulled out from her telemovie project at the eleventh hour.
Aida said her production team was only informed by Balqis’ mother Norashikin Mohd Aziz yesterday, a day prior to the telemovie titled Tiada Galang Ganti was scheduled for filming.
“I really don’t know what’s the problem. But this is one of the challenges production companies have to face when cast pull out at the last minute. Looking for replacement at a short notice is another issue,” said Aida in the news report yesterday.
She also said that the production team was not informed of the reason behind the perplexing decision.
Aida who runs A Aida Production Sdn Bhd however said that she would not hold any grudges against Balqis, even though she had initially offered Balqis a role in the drama since she had wanted to help her.
The teenage star was recently under the spotlight when her hardship was highlighted on TV3 documentary Bersamamu last Sunday, with the caring public having donated more than RM100,000 to date.
