#Showbiz: 'I've decided to take my son off school' - Diana Danielle

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actress Diana Danielle took to social media yesterday to express her concern on the Covid-19 pandemic that has gripped the world and has been escalating in Malaysia as well.

The 28-year-old mother of two shared a screen cap of a news report on her Instagram account.

She wrote: "Poland has shut schools and institutions down after 25 cases, equivalent to our first wave. I urge our government to do the same as the numbers rise above our own knowledge and control."

"We’ve seen Wuhan, Italy, South Korea and Iran’s situation, it became severe just after 2 weeks from their first spike. I worry for our country, please overestimate and please overreact, better than underestimating the effects... this will save so many lives."

Worried about her school-going son, the Hanyut and Talak star added: "I’ve decided to take my son off school until we are confident he is safe amongst hundreds of other students and teachers. Share your actions and advise below so we can fight this together."

Her post from last night has already garnered over 8,500 likes and more than 140 comments from equally concerned Netizens who agreed that more precautionary measures should be taken by the government with regards to the current situation.

According to a news report, Malaysia confirmed 190 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases yesterday.

This represents the highest single-day increase in cases on record since the outbreak began on Jan 25.

The new tally of 428 infections in the country makes Malaysia the worst-affected country by the Covid-19 virus in Southeast Asia so far.
