KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's top songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin confessed that being able to spend quality time with her beloved husband would be the most meaningful present she could ever want for a wedding anniversary.
The 41-year-old artiste and successful businesswoman who will be celebrating 14 years of happiness with Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa, 61, on Aug 21, said that previously she would be thrilled to receive special anniversary gifts from him.
"But presents (material things) are not important. Also, with the current situation it's not such a good thing to be showy.
"For me, it's really enough if the two of us can spend some quality time together.
"Most importantly, I am very thankful that the family life that I have built has been blessed with happiness.
"What God has given me all this while is the best. The presence of Siti Aafiyah has certainly brightened our lives immensely," she said in a recent news report.
The award-winning artiste added that in a marriage, both parties would need to take care of their significant other's feelings.
They also have to always show support for each other's interests.
Siti explained that the two of them had shared an activity together in conjunction with their anniversary celebrations.
"My husband and I celebrated our upcoming anniversary a little earlier this year in Fraser's Hill yesterday, together with the CTDK Club cycling team.
"The two of us organised this cycling event for the newly-formed CTDK Club which now has over 30 members," she said.
Siti added that since she shared a deep interest for cycling with her husband, it was a good opportunity to take on the challenge of cycling with the CTDK Club in Fraser's Hill.
The handsome couple tied the knot on Aug 21, 2006 and they have a daughter Siti Aafiyah, 2.
