KUALA LUMPUR: Singer-actress Elyana Emrizal who has been bravely battling cancer for a decade now, has revealed that the lymphoma had spread to her womb, liver and hips.
"When I was hospitalised last month, the doctors said that the cancer cells had been reduced. It was great news. However, they later found that the disease has spread to my womb, liver and hips as well," she said in a news report today.
The 33-year-old star of Dunia Baru The Movie and Dukun said that she was also told to begin chemotherapy treatment right away.
Elyana added that she experienced a loss of appetite over the last few months, resulting in a significant weight loss. She now weighs only 40 kilograms.
"I need time to be strong again. God willing, I will undergo chemotherapy as soon as I feel better," said Elyana who last had chemotherapy in 2016.
Elyana said that she was facing her illness by being positive and motivated.
"I'm not one to give up easily. I intend to fight the disease all the way and also motivate others with cancer to do the same."
Elyana first revealed she had stage 4 cancer after participating in reality show Gegar Vaganza 4 (GV4) in 2017. The Tak Tercapai Akalmu and Kalis Rindu singer who has been in the music scene since 2002, has four albums under her belt.
