#Showbiz: Artistes Hans Isaac, Shahrol ready to be selected as candidates in GE15

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Hans Isaac and Shahrol of Shiro fame are open to become candidates at the upcoming 15th General Elections (GE15) if their names were chosen by their party leaders.

In a news report today, director and actor Hans, 51, who joined Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) in February last year, said that despite having been involved in various activities for the Ampang community in the past three years, he was open to serve other areas should his name was submitted to contest at other constituencies.

"Ampang is like my kampung, so naturally it's close to my heart. However, it won't be a problem for me to serve in other areas as well. Politicians main purpose is to serve the people.

"Whatever it is, let's wait for the nomination day and see what happens next," Hans was quoted in the report.

In July, Hans contested for Ampang PKR division chief, but lost to fellow artiste Altimet, whose full name was Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad.

Meanwhile, for comedian Shahrol, whose full name is Shahrol Azizie Azmi, having been involved with Pemuda Umno Kluang for four years is not an automatic ticket for him to explore further into politics like contesting at GE15.

"I'm still green in politics. Before I moved on further, I believe that I need to learn more about serving the people on a higher platform," said the 38-year-old artiste.

However, Shahrol said that if there was a support for him to contest at GE15, he would not say no either.

Last February, there were rumours that he was to be fielded as one of the candidates at the Johor State Elections.
