KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Yusof Haslam has refused to comment on the controversy involving his son director Syamsul Yusof, who had reportedly married actress Ira Kazar.
The 68-year-old film producer and director said that Syamsul, 38, was old enough to know what is good for him.
"I can't comment. It's best that the statement on the marriage speculation be answered by Syamsul himself.
"As parents, both my wife and I can only pray for the best for our son (Syamsul) and our daughter-in-law (Puteri Sarah Liyana)," he said in a news report today.
Yesterday, Puteri Sarah shared a series of Insta-story on the alleged relationship her husband had with Ira.
"All I know, it happened (that Ira confessed to her about the affair) a day before I gave birth to Sumayyah (who is now three years old). Some people can be cruel, right?" she wrote in the post.
Puteri Sarah, 37, also shared a DM from a follower, which stated that she had also heard on the grapevine that both Syamsul and Ira had already tied the knot.
Puteri Sarah and Syamsul married in 2014 and they are blessed with two children — Syaikhul Islam, five, and Sumayyah, three.
Rumours about their rocky marriage started about four years ago.
