KUALA LUMPUR: Actor-director Syamsul Yusof's ex-wife Ira Kazar has admitted that the Mat Kilau filmmaker had made several claims on her after their Sept 5 divorce.
This was confirmed by her syarie lawyer Mohammad Fadhil Abdul Razak at the Gombak Timur Lower Syariah Court yesterday.
"Yes, he wanted my client to return certain things, but we did not agree because such things happened during their marriage," said Mohammad Fadhil in a Berita Harian report yesterday.
He added: "We have given him suggestions on how to solve this matter. So far, there has been no word from his side."
Mohammad Fadhil said that his client could not reveal details about her claim.
"We have our own reasons for not agreeing to return these things. We stated in terms of Syariah law why we did not agree."
Ira or Faghirah Fatini Kazaruddin, 29, said: "I have decided not to comment, lest things will get misinterpreted."
Yesterday, the court ordered Syamsul, 40, to pay court attendance fees of RM200 to Ira.
The decision was made by Judge Maizatul Aliza Chee Din.
Mohammad Fadhil said that Ira had requested an attendance fee of RM3,000 because it caused a lot of difficulty for her.
On Sept 5, Syamsul and Ira were divorced at the Syariah Lower Court in Kuala Selangor.
Syamsul and Ira were married on Jan 6 last year in southern Thailand.
