KUALA LUMPUR: Entrepreneur and tiktoker, Datuk Red, 46, is now a widower for the 'second time' after legally divorcing his first wife, Datin Seri Sharifah Norshafila Hashim, 38, at the Kuala Selangor District Syariah Lower Court at 10.40 this morning.
On April 24, Datuk Red or Datuk Seri Adnan Abu first divorced his second wife, singer Adira Suhaimi, 32, at the Gombak Barat Syariah Lower Court after nine years of living together and having four children together.
Datuk Red said that he agreed to divorce Datin Red because he did not want to prolong their marital issues and chose to part amicably even though they had been together for 18 years and had five children.
"My ex-wife (Datin Red) and I have discussed and agreed to divorce amicably. We will also raise the children together. If I continue (not wanting a divorce) it will drag on for a long time.
"On the advice of my lawyer, we reached a divorce agreement (today). God willing, the children will understand because they are grown up," he said in a Harian Metro report.
He also said that he wanted to focus on working to earn income to pay off his debts.
Earlier, Datuk Red expressed his divorce towards Datin Red in front of Syarie Judge, Mohd Nurulazhar Mohd Tohar.
It is believed that Datin Red did not demand any maintenance from her ex-husband since she understands the financial problems faced by her ex-husband.
She refuses to trouble Datuk Red and is determined to work hard to generate her own income to support her children.
Previously, Datin Red filed for divorce against Datuk Red at the end of January. Adira had filed for divorce on October 25 of last year.
However, during the proceedings of their divorce case on March 18, Datuk Red refused to divorce Datin Red because he still wanted to save his household that had been built over a very long time.
Datuk Red who married Adira in Songkhla, Thailand on Dec 3, 2015 has four children, namely Anggrek, 7, Asan, 6, Anggun, 5 and Ayob who is now two years old.
