KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Ashraf Muslim urges civilians who are interested in the military to join him in the Territorial Army (Askar Wataniah).
In a recent video he shared on his social media platform, the 43-year-old artiste said that by joining the regiment, one would not only be doing himself a favour, but the voluntary action would also create a positive impact on the community and country.
"I'm calling up especially those out there who are interested in the military world and survival skills, as one would be exposed to those skills in the training programmes for the voluntary scheme.
"I'm not asking you to become a full-time soldier, but this is only on a voluntary basis. This programme is basically the country's reserved team for defence.
"So for those who are in Klang Valley, come and join me in Regiment 515," he said, adding that currently there are training sessions taking place in Bentong, Pahang.
"Rather than just watching or playing all those games (involving military tactical action), let's try something which is more real and beneficial by joining this Territorial Army.
"I dare you!"
Ashraf has been commissioned with the rank of Lieutenant in March.
