#SHOWBIZ: 'The Glory' actress Park Ji-ah dies at age 52

KUALA LUMPUR: South Korean actress Park Ji-ah, best known for her role in the popular K-drama The Glory, died today after collapsing from a stroke. She was 52.

The actress has appeared in numerous drama series and movies over the course of her 20-year-plus career.

In the hit Netflix series, The Glory,  Park played the villainous mother of Song Hye-kyo's character Moon Dong-eun, which garnered praise from fans and critics.

According to CNA, Park's agency announced the unfortunate news today and said that she had died at 2.50am (Korea time).

The agency added that she died "after battling a cerebral infarction", which is also known as an ischemic stroke.

"We will forever remember her passion for acting until the very end," said the agency.

South Korean outlet Osen reported that a condolence wreath from Song Hye-kyo was sent to Asan Medical Centre, where Park's funeral is schedule to take place.

Park's The Glory co-stars, Park Sung-hoon, Jung Sung-il, Kim Hieora, and Kim Gun-woo, were also reportedly set to attend the funeral.
