KUALA LUMPUR: "I'm not paralysed but the doctor warned that I could be if my severe leg injury isn't properly treated," said action and stunt actor Muhammad Azlan Kamiran, or Azlan Komeng, 48.
Azlan was involved in an accident on Oct 12, where he sustained multiple injuries, including a severe one to his left leg.
Doctors have advised him to limit his movement and take extra care of the injury for the next month.
"The injuries from the accident were serious. When the doctor told me I might end up paralysed, it hit me hard.
"I couldn't stop thinking about my family—my wife and children.
"The doctor said it would take five to six months to recover, and I wouldn't be able to work during that time, which affects our finances," Azlan told Harian Metro.
He revealed that the thought of burdening his wife, Nur Nilam, weighed heavily on him.
"I told her, if she wanted to leave me, I would understand. I don't want her to be stressed, especially now that we've lost our vehicle too."
However, Azlan expressed gratitude for his wife's unwavering support.
"She's decided to stay by my side, and I respect her deeply for that.
"I was able to protect her from serious harm during the accident, and I'm grateful for that, though she did get injured as well."
Now residing in Batu Pahat, Johor, Azlan said he is focused on resting and recovering.
"I feel more emotionally stable now. I'm determined to heal fully and move forward."
The accident on Oct 12 occurred at 2am in Kuala Lipis, Pahang.
Azlan, his wife, and their five-year-old son, Adam, were traveling in a Perodua Kancil that collided with a police truck.
His car was totaled, and he sustained injuries to his head, face, and legs, while his wife suffered rib and head injuries.
Azlan also claimed that he had lost a bag containing money during the accident.
