KUALA LUMPUR: "A single misstep can tarnish the reputation of many," said Kugiran Masdo in response to Nur Fazura's recent singing performance in Indonesia.
The band, made up of Ali Sariah (vocals, guitar), bassist Putuceri, and guitarist Asmawi, emphasised their commitment to continuously improving, undeterred by the controversy.
Fazura's appearance on an Indonesian talk show to promote her song Bertahan Demi Cinta sparked widespread debate, with some Indonesian viewers criticising her performance.
Kugiran Masdo acknowledged that incidents like this can impact perceptions of Malaysian artistes abroad.
"We hope she takes this as a learning experience and strives to improve," Ali said at a press conference for the One Love Music 2024 Concert held at IPC Cornerstone.
"We should learn from both the good and the bad, turning mistakes into valuable lessons."
Ali added that musicians, like everyone, are human and prone to occasional missteps.
"Performers must be prepared for all possibilities, and while nerves can sometimes interfere, it's essential to deliver one's best on stage," he said.
Recently back from a performance in Laos, Kugiran Masdo remains focused on their journey, using every experience to grow in the ever-demanding music industry.
