#SHOWBIZ: Lan Zailan's cancer spreads to lungs and liver

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Lan Zailan, 66, has been given a grim prognosis as his stage-four pancreatic cancer has spread to his lungs and liver.

Doctors estimate his life expectancy to be just three months.

His wife, Ruby Sara Omar, 51, shared the heartbreaking news after receiving the results of a recent CT scan.

"Please, friends, continue to support Lan. If he has made any mistakes, we ask for your forgiveness," she pleaded.

Lan is currently receiving treatment at the University of Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) and is in stable condition under medical supervision.

Ruby expressed her husband's calm acceptance of his condition, adding, "Lan remains strong and is prepared to face this challenge."

The actor was admitted to PPUM a week ago after experiencing a persistent cough. Initially, the family sought treatment at a health clinic, but his symptoms, including significant weight loss and loss of appetite, worsened.

Ruby recounted how concerns from friends during a recent sales carnival in Miri, Sarawak, prompted them to seek further medical attention, ultimately leading to a private CT scan.

Throughout his treatment, Lan has received visits and support from fellow artistes, including Gagasan Transformasi Anak Seni (GTAS) president Anne Abdullah and Yayasan Artis Veteran Malaysia (YAVM) president Sandakiah Aziz.

They also contributed donations to ease his treatment costs.
