I don't support Tun M's movement: Ku Li [VIDEO]

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah does not support the so-called 'Save Malaysia' movement led by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Tengku Razaleigh, better known as Ku Li, said he never agreed to the movement by Dr Mahathir to form the declaration as it was not in accordance with the Federal Constitution.

"I met him (Dr Mahathir) when he wanted to start this movement and I asked him, how this will end.

"He said he wants to use the signatures to pressure (Prime Minister Datuk Seri) Najib (Razak) to step down.

"I told him that does not follow the Constitution. I've already said I don't support it," he told a press conference today.

Ku Li, who is also Gua Musang member of Parliament, said he only attended the press conference with Dr Mahathir because he was against the usage of the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 on former Batu Kawan Umno vice-chief Datuk Khairuddin Abu Hassan and lawyer Matthias Chang.

He stressed that he would not sign the Dr Mahathir-Lim Kit Siang declaration as he was not a part of it.

"I am an Umno member," he said.

On the Kelantan Umno Declaration signed last week, Ku Li said it was his right as an Umno member to sign the document.

"I have been a division chief and an Umno member for over 50 years. Why can't I sign it?

"I signed it as an Umno member and I'm not in any other groups other than Umno," he said.
