Sultan Johor fastens F1 plate on Proton Perdana, takes it for a spin

JOHOR BARU: The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar today fastened the new "F1" number plate he recently acquired through bidding, on his ruby red Proton Perdana.

The ruler placed the number plate on the car, valued at RM130,000, at the Istana Pasir Pelangi, here today.

The Sultan paid RM836,660 to acquire the F1 plate.

The ruler later drove the new Proton Perdana 2.0 with Proton Holdings Bhd board of directors member, Datuk Zainuddin Che Din and Proton Holdings Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Fuaad Kenali as his passengers from Istana Pasir Pelangi to Istana Bukit Serene.

The Transport Ministry Vehicle Licencing Division had announced on Friday that Sultan Ibrahim won the bid to secure the highly sought-after F1 vehicle registration number, after he made the winning bid of RM836,660 for the plate.
