16-year-old student among two nabbed with 10kg of cannabis in Pasir Mas

PASIR MAS: PASIR MAS: Two teenagers including a student were detained by police for possessing 10kg of cannabis worth RM31,000 here on Sunday.

Deputy district police chief, Superintendent Nik Aminuddin Raja Abdullah said the two were arrested by the road near Kampung Banggol Petaling near Rantau Panjang.

Also seized in the operation on Sunday was a Perodua Kancil.

"A police party went to the area following a public tip-off and they saw the car when it passed at about 3.15pm.

"The officers then stopped the car with two teenagers inside it, for inspection.

"After checking the vehicle, they found 10kg of cannabis inside and detained the two, aged 18 and 16," he said in a statement today.

Raja Aminuddin said one of the two is still studying at a school in Rantau Panjang.

"Initial investigations showed that one of them had a previous drug record.

"The two also tested positive for drugs," he added.

He said the suspects have been remanded for seven days beginning yesterday to assist police investigations into the case.
