KUALA LUMPUR: A clip of a man being assaulted by a group of people is being circulated on various social media platforms.
The man, without his shirt on, was seen being kicked around like a ball while all his four limbs were tied. He was screaming in pain.
Earlier today, it was reported that five suspects, believed to be involved in the attack which resulted in the death of a 42-year-old car driver at Taman Pelangi Semenyih 2 last night, were arrested by police.
Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan said based on information from the scene and intelligence, officers from the district Criminal Investigation Department arrested the five suspects at 2.05am today at two separate locations, in Beranang and Semenyih.
"Police obtained a five-day remand until Feb 25 on the five suspects, to facilitate investigations into the case," he said.
The suspects, aged between 22 and 52 were produced at the Kajang court for a remand order this morning.
"The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder and under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said urging witnesses to come forward and assist in the investigation.
Mohd Zaid also refused to confirm that the motorcyclist who was involved in the car crash with the deceased, before the situation escalated at Taman Pelangi Semenyih 2 at 9.20pm is a p-hailing deliveryman.
"We have not received any reports from anyone about the alleged first crash between the driver and a motorcyclist. We are still investigating this claim," he said.
