KUALA LUMPUR: Police have confirmed that five men arrested last week over a fatal assault of a 42-year-old man at Taman Pelangi Semenyih 2 will be charged at the Bandar Baru Bangi magistrate's court.
Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan, however, did not specify the charge.
"The suspects will be charged at the Bandar Baru Bangi court tomorrow," he said.
Last week, Selangor police chief, Datuk Seri Hussein Omar Khan said police had arrested two individuals, in addition to the five suspects who were arrested earlier, to help with the investigation.
Last week, it was reported that a 42-year-old man, who was tied up and beaten to death in Taman Pelangi, Semenyih 2 on Feb 20, had tested positive for methamphetamine and cannabis.
Previously, it was reported that the driver of a car was pulled out of the vehicle by members of the public after an accident. The car driver had his hands e tied up and he was beaten to death.
The incident happened after the man, who was driving a grey Proton Saga, was involved in an accident with a food delivery rider.
Immediately after the accident, the victim was involved in a car chase by members of the public to Taman Pelangi Semenyih 2, before his car skidded and hit the fence of a residential area.
