KULAI: A 47-year-old housewife was injured during an alleged attempted abduction by four men in front of her home in Taman Lagenda Putra, here, on Sunday night.
District police chief Superintendent Tan Seng Lee said the four unidentified men punched and dragged the woman into a waiting car by the roadside in front of her house at 9.30pm.
However, the attempt was foiled when her cries for help and chaos from the struggle made her husband rush outside.
Upon seeing her husband, the suspects quickly abandoned their plans and fled the scene in the car.
Tan denied claims made on social media that the woman was sexually assaulted.
"The victim sustained a cut on her lips that required stitches, and bruises on her arms and legs.
"Police are working around the clock to identify the victims," he said, adding the victims could not identify the getaway vehicle's registration number.
He urged those with information to contact investigation officers Inspector R. Arun at 013-333 2385.
Earlier, Facebook account holder Angel Fang uploaded pictures of the injuries sustained by the victim, whom she claimed was her mother.
In the post, she said they had just returned from a family outing, and had parked their car by the road side outside their house.
"Unidentified men stopped in front of us and alighted from a white car. There were three other men in the car.
"He molested my mother, and attempted to drag her into the car, however, her screams foiled the attempt," read the post.
