GEORGE TOWN: A motorcyclist has been detained after he was caught on video chasing a car and hitting it with a helmet on Saturday (June 8).
Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Razlam Ab Hamid said the man, in his 30s, was picked up from his home in Sungai Pinang here last night.
He has been remanded for four days under Section 427 of the Penal Code.
"Investigation revealed the incident occurred after the car driver hit the man's motorcycle.
"The motorcyclist challenged the car driver to a fight.
"The car driver, noticing nothing serious, drove off.
"This prompted the motorcyclist to give chase until Jalan Sungai Pinang where he got down from his motorcycle and hit the car with his helmet," he told newsmen here today (June 10).
The car driver then lodged a report.
A video footage, nearly two minutes long, showed the motorcyclist chasing the car and hitting it with a helmet.
A man could be heard telling a woman to record the whole incident.
A child inside the car was also heard crying before being calmed down.
