PUTRAJAYA: Police have recorded the statements of 11 people who were believed to have organised or taken part in Saturday's demonstration against Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim here.
More people are expected to be summoned by police as investigations under the Peaceful Assembly Act continue.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said they will be questioning Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegubard, on Wednesday.
An appointment for former political secretary to Tan Sri Annuar Musa Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, he said, had yet to be scheduled.
"We are investigating the case under Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act," he said.
Aidil Yunus, one of those questioned today, said he had given his full cooperation to police and answered all their queries.
However, he voiced his disappointment over what he claimed was the use of police to intimidate the protesters.
"They tried to intimidate us two days prior to the demonstration by saying action would be taken against those who participated and now this," he told reporters outside the Putrajaya police headquarters.
Aidil, who said he was one of the organisers of the protest, said they followed the law and given five days' notice to the police but had not gotten any feedback.
Another who was questioned, Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali, said one of the promises Pakatan Harapan had made prior to the general election was that the people would have the freedom to speak.
"This should not just be for the rakyat to express their opinions but should also be extended to those who want to demonstrate."
