Police retrieve simcard of suspect in Nur Farah Kartini murder probe

HULU SELANGOR: A simcard believed to be that used by the policeman caught in connection with the murder of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah is being analysed by police.

Hulu Selangor deputy police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus said police have retrieved the sim card and are in the midst of analysing it.

"Our investigation team also went to an orchard at Kampung Klan Halt, Slim River to conduct further investigations earlier in the day.

"They have since returned to the Hulu Selangor police headquarters and are now analysing a red Toyota Vios which was used by the suspect," he said when contacted on Saturday.

He said the suspect was believed to have been working at the farm part-time.

"Checks by Mualim police also revealed that conditions at Sungai Trolak were currently not suitable for police divers to continue their search for more evidence," he said.

It was reported (https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2024/07/1079235/nur-farah-kartini-mur...) that the water level of Sungai Trolak fell slightly this morning compared with yesterday, but the river is still quite muddy.

Police are searching for additional evidence in the river near Kampung Batu 4 here for investigations into the murder case of Nur Farah Kartini.

Sungai Trolak's water level rose by more than 1m yesterday and debris made it unsafe for divers to conduct the search.

Previously, police found a handbag believed to have belonged to Nur Farah Kartini in a search in the area.

Nur Farah Kartini went missing on July 11.

The victim, who worked at a car rental company, was delivering a rental car to a customer in a residential area in Tanjung Malim around 8am on July 10.

She was seen leaving in a red car after completing the delivery.

Her body was found near Felda Gedangsa in Hulu Selangor around 6pm on Monday.

A police lance corporal has been arrested in connection with the murder.
