Police to question cassava farm worker in Nur Farah Kartini murder probe

HULU SELANGOR: A worker at a cassava farm has been called by the police to provide a statement and assist in the investigation into the murder of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah.

The worker was called to give his statement as the police believe that the 25-year-old victim was taken to several locations, including the cassava farm, before she was murdered.

It is understood that the farm, managed part-time by the murder suspect, is located about 30 kilometers from where Nur Farah Kartini's body was found.

District police chief Superintendent Ahmad Faizal Tahrim, when contacted yesterday, confirmed that the police are in the process of recording a statement from the cassava farm worker.

He, however, did not disclose other details, including the age of the individual, as the case is still under investigation.

"Yes, we are in the process of recording a statement," Ahmad Faizal said.

When asked about closed-circuit television (CCTV) recordings around Tanjung Malim, which is believed to be the 'stopover' location before the victim was taken to the palm oil plantation at Kampung Sri Keledang, in Hulu Bernam, Ahmad Faizal said the matter would be informed from time to time.

"Tonight, the police will detail those locations. Any developments will be informed later," he said.

Earlier today, it was reported that a cassava farm in Kampung Klan Halt, Slim River, Perak, has become the focus of the police forensic and investigation teams in their efforts to find evidence in the murder case of Nur Farah Kartini.

At the same time, the police are also analysing the suspect's SIM card and car.

Nur Farah Kartini went missing on July 11.

A day earlier, the victim, who worked at a car rental company, had delivered a rental car to a customer in a residential area in Tanjung Malim around 8 am on July 10.

She was seen leaving in a red car after completing the delivery. Her body was found near Felda Gedangsa in Hulu Selangor around 6 pm on Monday.

A police lance corporal has been arrested in connection with the murder.
