Reporter's home in Pulau Tuba broken into

LANGKAWI: A Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) reporter, Mohammad Najib Mashor suffered RM1,500 in losses after his home in Pulau Tuba was broken into on Wednesday.

During the incident, the house was vacant as Najib, 32, was away at work in Kuala Lumpur.

He said the incident was discovered by his sister while passing by the house about 11.30pm.

"She noticed something amiss as one of the window panels was broken and decided to check the house.

"Upon enteringit, she discovered that several branded clothes, a box containing coins, electrical appliances and some junk food were missing.

"The burglar also ransacked the house and wardrobe besides damaging 10 pillows kept in the bedroom," he said when contacted today.

Najib added that his brother Mohamad Sahil lodged a report over the incident at Langkawi district police headquarters.

Meanwhile, Langkawi police chief Assistant Commissioner Shariman Ashari confirmed that police have received the report.
