KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested two men to facilitate its investigation into a clip of a lorry crashing into the rear of a Toyota Supra that has gone viral on social media.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the episode unfolded following an argument between the driver of the lorry and the driver of a Honda Civic yesterday.
Zamzuri said one of them was upset with the other for suddenly exiting a junction at area in the city. The argument escalated into a road chase between the lorry and the Honda Civic.
"Preliminary investigation showed the driver of the lorry lost control of his vehicle before it rammed into the rear of the Toyota Supra parked by the roadside in Jalan Pudu at 4.57pm.
"The lorry then hit the Honda Civic while reversing," he said in a statement.
Zamzuri said the police have arrested the driver of the lorry and Honda Civic to assist their investigation into the case.
They were then released on police bail.
"We have completed our investigation into the case. The investigation paper has been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor to decide on the next course of action."
Zamzuri said the case has been classified under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.
