KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested a 27-year-old man on Wednesday on suspicion of vandalising a Lamborghini Urus belonging to his former employer, a security firm owner.
Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail said the incident took place in East Park Amberhill, Taman Melawati, on Tuesday evening.
Azam said a 46-year-old company owner was alerted by his staff around 6.30pm of the significant damage to his vehicle that was parked at his residence.
He said after the man lodged a report, police apprehended the suspect the next day at Ampang Jaya police headquarters.
"The motive for the act of vandalism was due to the suspect's dissatisfaction with the complainant for being fired as a driver for the complainant's wife," Azam said in a statement.
He added that the suspect had been remanded until Sept 1 to help in investigations.
The suspect has a record of three prior offences but is not wanted for any outstanding cases, and tested negative for drugs.
The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for acts of mischief resulting in damage to property.
If convicted, the suspect faces up to two years in prison, a fine, or both.
