LAHAD DATU: Police are actively searching for a man believed to be involved in a violent brawl that took place at Jalan Bypass last Sunday.
The suspect, known as Acok Kepala, is in his 30s, lacks personal identification documents, and is registered as a resident of Kampung Pisang.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Dzulbaharin Ismail has called on the public to come forward with any information about the suspect to aid the investigation.
"At present, the police team is working to locate the suspect.
"Anyone who recognises him or has relevant information can contact the case's assistant investigating officer, Sergeant Fitzeraldfield Anak Sudy, at 089-881255 or approach any nearby police station," he said in a statement today.
The incident is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for possessing deadly weapons during a riot.
Earlier, a 10-second video of the brawl, which circulated on social media, showed a group of men fighting at Jalan Bypass on Nov 3.
The altercation was believed to have been sparked by a dispute over a traffic accident, escalating into a confrontation.
