Police seek evidence in fatal bicycle fall case

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are appealing those with information about the bicycle accident which claimed the life of a 10-year-old girl in Kuang to assist with the investigation.

Sungai Buloh police chief superintendent Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor urged witnesses to come forward and provide additional evidence, such as dashcam footage, to assist with the investigation.

"So far, the witnesses we have talked to mentioned seeing the victim fall down.

"This case is now being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said.

He said the victim's bicycle and clothing have been sent to the Chemistry Department for analysis, and the investigating officer of the case has requested a medical report.

The investigation papers will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor's Office once they are fully completed, he said.

The girl, confirmed to be brain dead following a fall from her bicycle in an accident in Kuang last Thursday, died at 10am yesterday at Sungai Buloh Hospital.
