MELAKA: Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Razali Ibrahim headed the list of 477 recipients of state honours at an investiture ceremony held in conjunction with the 79th birthday of the Melaka Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob here today.
Razali, who is also Muar MP, was conferred the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (DCSM) which carries the title “Datuk Wira”.
Among ten others who were also conferred the DCSM were Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi’s wife Puan Sri Faridah Begum K.A. Abdul Kader; Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub; and Umno Malaysia Veterans Club deputy chairman Datuk Noordin Yaani.
Two individuals who received the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM), which carries the title “Datuk”, were Malaysian Palm Oil Board director-general Dr Ahmad Kushairi Din and Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Amer Awal.
Forty-three individuals received the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM) which carries the title “Datuk”, 16 received the Darjah Seri Melaka (DSM); 28 were conferred the Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (BCM); and 91 individuals received the Bintang Khidmat Terpuji (BKT).
The investiture also saw 170 individuals receiving the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK), 103 individuals receiving the Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (PBM); and 13 individuals receiving the Pingat Khidmat Lama (PKL).
Media practitioners who were conferred with awards included Melaka Hari Ini (MHI) chief operations officer Ishak Dalib, who received the DSM; and Harian Metro bureau chief Mohd Salman Hamat and MHI editor-in-chief Ishak Mohamed Salleh, who both received the BKT.
Part-time TV3 cameraman Mohd Zaidi Ya’acob received the PJK; while Utusan Malaysia reporter Fadzly Izab was awarded the PBM.
