15 families in 2 villages affected by flood in Jerantut

JERANTUT: Two villages here were cut-off as the access road was flooded following continuous rain last night.

Pahang Civil Defence Force director Colonel Zainal Yusof said water began rising early this morning and the road was submerged by 11am.

"The villages are Kampung Teresek and Kampung Belebar where nine and six families, respectively, have been affected.

"They are still at their houses and the process of sending food and other supplies are being conducted," he said.

Zainal said the Civil Defence Force, with the cooperation of other agencies, were monitoring the situation in the areas.

He said no flood relief centres had been opened in the state at the moment.
