JELEBU: A nine-month-old baby girl died after being flung out of her mother's car which was involved in a freak car accident at Kilometer 19.3 Jalan Seremban - Simpang Pertang last night.
Jelebu Deputy Chief of Police, Deputy Superintendent Kamarul Rizal Jenal said the accident involving three vehicles took place at 7.30pm.
He said the victim, Lim Hui Chee, 25, was driving a Toyota Vios on her way back home to Titi from Seremban at the time of the accident.
" The victim lost control of her car when she took a turn and crossed into the opposite lane of incoming traffic before colliding with a Honda Civic coming from Kuala Klawang.
"The victim's car is believed to have spun several times before being hit by a Proton Saga which was also coming from the Kuala Klawang direction. Because of the impact of the accident, Wong Qan Ton, who was at that time being held by her father Wong Ting Sing, 26, was thrown out of the car into the middle of the road," he said.
Kamarul Rizal said Proton Saga driver Luqman Al Hakim Fouzar, 23 from Simpang Durian sustained neck injuries while the driver and passenger of the Honda Civic escaped unscathed.
He said the baby was sent to Jelebu Hospital before being referred to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital (HTJ).
However, the baby was confirmed dead at about 7.50am following severe head injuries.
He said the police are still investigating the incident under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
