SEREMBAN: A car upholstery shop owner had the shock of his life when a tanker lorry crashed into his shop in Taman Indah Jaya Lukut, Port Dickson on Saturday night.
In the 10pm incident, the lorry driver was said to have parked his fully-loaded vehicle by the hillside to return to his home nearby.
Unknown to him, the tanker suddenly moved, gathered speed and slide downhill into the shop, located about 30 metres away.
The shopowner, who wanted to be known as Ang, 52, said he immediately rushed over his shop after being informed by a friend of the incident.
"I was very surprised when I got to the store and saw the damage. I'm not sure how it happened but probably because the lorry was parked on a slope.
"Luckily, no one was inside the shop and no other vehicles were placed nearby," he said.
Meanwhile, Port Dickson police chief Superintendent Zainudin Ahmad confirmed the incident and said that investigation is still ongoing.
