HULU SELANGOR: A man died while six others, including three women, suffered severe injuries in an accident involving a lorry and a motorcycle convoy at KM405 of the North South Expressway (PLUS) northbound, here, today.
The accident took place about one kilometre before the Tanjung Malim exit.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department deputy director of operations Mohd Rizal Buang said they received a call on the incident at 10.33am.
"13 officers and personnel with two fire engines from the Kuala Kubu Bharu and Tanjung Malim fire stations were deployed to the scene.
"It is learned that in the accident, several motorcycles that were part of the convoy had fallen in the emergency lane. A driver in a Proton Exora then stopped to assist the victims.
"However, a lorry travelling from the same direction rammed into the motorcycles and the car which resulted in one death and six suffering severe injuries," he said, when contacted.
Mohd Rizal informed that the injured victims were taken to the Tanjung Malim Hospital and the Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.
