LABUAN: Federal Territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad is hopeful that the proposed Labuan-Menumbok bridge project will be awarded this year.
He said a committee led by the Public Works Department (PWD) had been established to look into various matters regarding the proposal.
A series of discussion had been held between his ministry, Sabah government and the Ministry of Works to identify areas that would involve in the project, he said to reporters after “Ziarah Kasih” programme here today.
He said the project would be implemented through private sector initiative.
It was reported earlier that the proposed bridge, spanning over 11 kilometres, may cost about RM5 billion. – BERNAMA
