KUALA LUMPUR: Nineteen personnel from the Cheras district police headquarters (IPD) have tested positive for Covid-19, City police chief Datuk Saiful Azly Kamaruddin said.
Without divulging the details, he said some of the personnel from Cheras IPD are still waiting for their results, which will be revealed in stages by the district health officer.
"Although the 19 personnel have tested positive for Covid-19, the police station and IPD Cheras will operate as usual by abiding by standard operating procedures (SOPs) that the government has put in place to curb the transmission of Covid-19," he said as quoted by Bernama.
On another development, Saiful Azly said 29 roadblocks have been mounted in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, following the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) which came into effect at 12.01am today.
On Oct 12, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur will be placed under CMCO effective 12.01am today to Oct 27.
The decision was made at the Special National Security Council (NSC) meeting which was chaired by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, based on the Health Ministry's advice, after taking into account the spike in Covid-19 cases in Klang, Petaling and Gombak districts. -BERNAMA
