KUANTAN: The Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate for the Tioman state seat in Rompin, Md Yunus Ramli, died today. He was 61.
Pahang Pas deputy commissioner Andansura Rabu confirmed that Yunus, who is the Rompin Pas vice commissioner, breathed his last at around 3.30am.
Yunus was believed to have died from a heart attack while being treated at the Rompin hospital.
Andansura, who expressed his deepest condolences and sympathy to the family of Yunus, said they will wait for further instructions from the Election Commission.
The Rompin state seat will see a five cornered contest between incumbent Datuk Seri Johari Husin (Barisan Nasional), Pejuang's Osman Bakar, Pakatan Harapan's Fadzli Mohd Ramly, independent candidate Sulaiman Bakar and Yunus.
