Police hunt for driver who maliciously sprinkled nails on Jalan Ipoh-Lumut [NSTTV]

BATU GAJAH: Police are looking for the driver of a Nissan Almera who allegedly threw nails on Jalan Ipoh-Lumut near Pusing here, causing damage to other vehicles.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif said authorities became aware of a 24-second video recording of the incident, which was shared on Twitter by a netizen yesterday.

"A road user lodged a police report over the incident after his tire was punctured while driving on the road," he said in a statement today.

Following the report, he said the police have opened an investigation paper under Section 427 of the Penal Code for causing damage through acts of mischief.

The video showed the driver making a right turn at a traffic light and throwing nails on the road at the same time. The incident was recorded by another driver behind the Nissan Almera.

Mohamad Roy said the police were intensifying efforts to locate the owner of the black Nissan Almera with registration number AJK 869 for further investigation.
