ALOR STAR: Kedah government has approved a RM500 special Aidilfitri cash aid to over 5,000 state civil servants.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said the special Hari Raya cash aid was on top of the RM2,000 special cash aid approved for 5,221 state civil servants.
"In the 2024 State Budget, the government has approved a RM2,000 special cash aid to civil servants in the state to be paid in two separate payments.
"The first payment was made in December (2023) followed by the second payment for Aidilfitri which has already been made on March 26.
"Today, the state government has agreed to grant a special Aidilfitri cash aid of RM500 to Kedah state civil servants which will be paid by April 8, 2024," he said in a press conference after chairing the state executive council meeting at Wisma Darul Aman here today.
Sanusi said the special cash aid incurred a financial implication of RM2.61 million to the state government.
Sanusi also announced a special Aidilfitri cash aid to 2,235 Village Security and Development Committee chairmen and secretaries in the state.
"In total, 2,235 chairmen and secretaries of the state Village Security and Development Committee will be getting RM200 for Raya, with a financial implication of RM467,000 to the state government," he said.
Meanwhile, Sanusi also invited the public to attend Kedah Menteri Besar's Hari Raya Open House on April 18.
He said the open house would be held between 11am to 4pm at the Menteri Besar's official residence Seri Mentaloon.
