Apartment cable theft suspect remanded, brother falls to death trying to escape

KAJANG: A 31-year-old unemployed man has been remanded for four days from today to be probed for alleged cable theft at an apartment in Kajang Utama yesterday.

Magistrate Nurul Hafzan Ab Aziz issued the remand order, which ends on Monday, following an application from the Criminal Investigation Department.

The man will be investigated under Section 431A of the Penal Code for mischief by injury to telegraph cable and wire.

In the incident, the man's brother fell to his death from the 23rd floor of the building while attempting to escape.

They were believed to be stealing cables at the apartment when they were spotted by a security guard.
