Murder victim's family make anguished plea for privacy to mourn their loss

SUNGAI BULOH: The family of murder victim Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah has asked the media to give them space to mourn.

Her sister-in-law Syeril Norsyuhadah Suhaimi urged reporters outside the Sungai Buloh Hospital Forensic Department to refrain from publishing speculative articles.

"Please don't publish any articles or speculations that will disturb us as a family.

"Give us room to mourn and focus on the post-mortem and funeral arrangements," she said in a trembling voice while trying not to cry.

She said the investigating officer and forensic officers had just arrived and they were now waiting for the post-mortem to be completed.

Mohd Farriza Azmi Abdullah, who is the victim's elder brother, said Nur Farah Kartini was a cheerful person who did not seem to have any troubles.

"She was not one to share her troubles, so if she was going through anything, I wouldn't know.

"About the suspect, I do not know anything," he said, adding that the victim shared a close relationship with all her siblings.

He said the last time she went back to Sarawak was for Hari Raya.

Nur Farah was reported missing on July 12.

The victim, who worked at a car rental company, helped deliver a rental car to a customer at a residential area at Tanjung Malim around 8am on July 10.

She was allegedly seen leaving in a red-coloured car after completing the delivery.

Her body was found near Felda Gedangsa in Hulu Selangor about 6pm on Monday.
