SANDAKAN:The Fire and Rescue Department came to the rescue of a woman who had a snake stuck in her car engine here today.
The department was alerted at 11.21am.
"The report indicated a King Cobra snake was located in the engine compartment of a Proton Saga car, approximately 1 metre long at the PDRM Apartments here.
"The team from the fire department captured the snake using special equipment and subsequently released the King Cobra in a forest area far from the residential zones," said the department in a statement today.
A spokesperson also said that the owner found out about the incident from her neighbour, who saw the reptile slither into the vehicle earlier.
The operation was concluded at 1134 am.
