Sabah PKR launches 7-point Kinabalu Declaration

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah PKR today unveiled its Kinabalu Declaration referred to as the 'PKR Sabah Synergy'.

The declaration which outlines seven points was launched by Prime Minister and PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the Himpunan Perdana Rakyat here.

Sabah PKR chairman Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, in his speech, said the seven points are Satu (One), Integrity and Innovation, Values, Economy, Reform, Glocal and Ideas.

"Satu details PKR as a party uniting the people under the Malaysia Madani framework.

"As for the second point - 'Integrity and Innovation' -, it explains the focus of the party to empower and deliver the best services to the people through integrity, innovative governance, and empathy. 

"PKR Sabah will also continue to place priority on politics with values and manners, merit and quality capacity to ensure humane and future-proof leadership and this is reflected in the third point of the declaration, which is 'Nurturing Value'," he said.

The fourth point, 'Economy,' ensures that basic infrastructure providing a quality life is delivered equitably across all areas, particularly rural regions.

"Moreover, PKR Sabah champions reform through democratic education and skills (TVET) underpinned by digital and innovative approaches to enhance human resource development in a high-income economic ecosystem," he said.

The sixth point, 'Glocal,' highlights PKR Sabah's commitment to defending Sabah's sovereignty and autonomy within the Federation of Malaysia, as outlined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963, and advocating for indigenous rights.

In line with the seventh point, 'Ideas,' PKR Sabah aims to position the state as a leader in ideas and thought leadership for a diverse society.

The event was also attended by key figures including Sabah Umno chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, Sabah DAP chairman Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung, PBRS president Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, Parti Cinta Sabah president Tan Sri Anifah Aman, Upko president Datuk Ewon Benedick, and PBS information chief Datuk Joniston Bangkuai.
