Health Ministry investigating teen impersonation at Serdang Hospital

SERDANG: The Health Ministry (MoH ) has acknowledged the report about a teenager who was caught impersonating Hospital Sultan Idris Shah (HSIS) staff member in Serdang.

In a statement today, MoH said preliminary investigation showed that the teen had used a fake identification card to carry out her impersonation as a HSIS staff.

" On Aug 7, the management of HSIS received a report regarding the suspicious behavior of an individual who was found masquerading as a hospital staff member. They immediately acted on the report and identified the individual, before an official police report was lodged," it said adding that the impersonator was then arrested the next day.

The ministry said the case is currently under investigation, and pledged its full cooperation to assist the police in their ongoing investigation.

It was reported that the 14-year-old teen who posed as a staff member, among others had also offered to assist in the operating room.

Yesterday, Sepang police chief Superintendent Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said the girl's size and stature were large compared to an average teenager her age.

She is expected to be remanded today at the Sepang Court to facilitate the ongoing police investigation.

Her parents were also called to the police stationto assist the investigation.
