KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Langat police have debunked a posting claiming there was an attempt to steal a motorcycle in Banting, Selangor.
Police chief Superintendent Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor said the video showed a woman and her colleague trying to "steal" a motorcycle in front of a house on Aug 9.
He said the incident was a misunderstanding.
"We found out that the woman is a motorcycle repossessor.
"The man involved is the son of the motorcycle owner. Both parties lodged reports on the matter."
Ridhwan said there were no criminal elements of attempted theft involved.
"After taking statements from both people, we realised that it was simply a misunderstanding.
"Both parties have resolved the issue."
Ridhwan urged people to refrain from spreading false information.
