SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) has confirmed the revocation of Ustaz Don Daniyal Don Biyajid's teaching credentials in the state.
Jais director Datuk Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad said the decision was made during the Accreditation Committee's meeting on July 24.
"The decision to revoke Ustaz Don Daniyal Don Biyajid's teaching credentials was based on the committee's authority under subsection 118(3) of the Selangor Islamic Religious Administration Enactment 2003, read together with paragraph 17(d) of the Selangor Accreditation Regulations 2008.
"A letter of revocation was issued by the Mais Accreditation Committee secretary on July 31 and Ustaz Don Daniyal Don Biyajid has been given 14 days to appeal from the date the revocation letter was received," he said in a statement today.
Previously, it was reported that Ustaz Don was given 14 days to provide a written statement per Regulations 17(b), (d), and (f) of the Selangor Accreditation Regulations 2008.
This measure was taken to prevent the suspension or revocation of the preacher's accreditation by the committee.
The celebrity preacher is under investigation under the Syariah Criminal Enactment (Selangor) 1995 for false doctrine, following several complaints received by Jais.
Previously, it was also reported that he was dismissed from his role as the host of the "Salam Baitullah" programme on RTM due to providing misleading information regarding fasting on the days of Tashriq.
