SUBANG JAYA: Police have confirmed that a recent viral video showing a man discharging a firearm in public was part of a crow-shooting operation conducted by the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) on Saturday (Sept 28).
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the operation, organised in collaboration with the Subang Jaya and Serdang police departments, aimed to control the crow population in the MBSJ area.
"The operation was approved by the Firearms Licensing Unit of the Selangor police contingent headquarters," he stated.
The exercise involved 25 participants, all licensed firearm holders.
"Safety measures were strictly adhered to in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)," added Azlan, noting that the operation proceeded smoothly without any incidents.
