KUALA LUMPUR: The government is increasing the allocation for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to RM360 million next year from RM 330 million.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this follows the increasing number of graft cases taken action upon by the commission.
He said the MACC acts independently against people involved in graft to bring them to justice.
"Numbers show there was a 20 per cent increase in captures and opening of investigation papers in 2023 as compared to the previous year.
"For next year, the allocation for the MACC will be increased to RM360 million as compared to RM338 million previously," he said in the 2025 Budget (Belanjawan 2025) in Parliament today.
